Is hearing affected by ALS?

Hearing is not impaired by ALS. Only very rarely can ventilation (and the resulting changes in pressure) lead to “tubal catarrh,” which in turn is associated with hearing loss. This scenario occurs very rarely. Overall, hearing is not impaired throughout the course of ALS.
