We have revamped the registration process for patients on the APST website. The goal is to simplify registration, particularly for patients outside Germany, and to improve international access to the ALS app.
The new registration process will go live on Tuesday, October 13, 2026.
What’s New?
Selecting a Country of Residence
At the beginning of the registration process, patients select the country where they live. This selection determines which information and consent forms are displayed during the rest of the registration process.

Country-Specific Information and Consent Forms
Registration is automatically adjusted to the selected country of residence. Among other things, a distinction is made between different types of information and consents:
- Information and Consent Regarding Data Processing: This is offered to all patients, regardless of their country of residence.
- Information and Consent Regarding Care Management: This is displayed only to patients residing in Germany.
This ensures that patients receive only the information and consent forms intended for their country of residence.
Making the ALS App Available Internationally
With the new registration process, we are taking another step toward making the ALS app available internationally.
We want to give as many people with ALS as possible access to digital tools for tracking the progression of their disease and supporting their care and research—regardless of which country they live in.
Yours sincerely
