Does Riluzole have to be taken at specific times?

Riluzole should be taken 12 hours apart, usually in the morning and in the evening. The exact time of administration is not critical. Strict adherence to the 12-hour interval is also not required. An interval of 10–14 hours would also be acceptable. Overall, the medication should be taken regularly and adapted to daily routines. In this sense, a deviation of a few hours from the 12-hour interval would not be a problem. It is also not necessary to time the dose in relation to meals (before, during, or after a meal). If it is not possible to take one or more doses, the missed doses should not be “made up.” The medication can be resumed without any special considerations (even after a prolonged break in taking it).
