Should I participate in a clinical trial?
The development of new drugs—and medical progress in general—is only possible if clinical trials are conducted on a larger scale. Therefore, being open to participating in clinical trials is crucial and actively helps advance the development of new ALS drugs.
The decision as to whether a patient who is willing to participate in a study can actually do so depends on “inclusion and exclusion criteria.” These are medical criteria for study participation that are established by drug manufacturers, the study organization, drug regulatory agencies, and ethics committees.
